Deliverability Rate

email metric

01 Definition

Deliverability Rate meaning: The percentage of sent emails accepted by receiving servers, meaning they did not bounce.

Deliverability rate is the share of sent emails that receiving servers accepted, calculated as delivered messages divided by emails sent, times 100. It confirms mail was not bounced or rejected, but acceptance does not mean the inbox, since accepted mail can still be filtered to spam. Inbox placement measures that finer outcome.

Why it matters

How Deliverability Rate fits the work

Deliverability rate is the baseline health check for a send, showing how much of your mail even reaches recipient servers before folder placement comes into play.

In context

The send delivered 9,800 of 10,000 emails for a 98 percent deliverability rate, though some accepted messages still landed in spam.

Practical note

Do not confuse a high deliverability rate with inbox success; a 99 percent delivery rate can still hide heavy spam foldering that only inbox placement testing reveals.
