Ad Asset
01 Definition
Ad Asset meaning: An extra piece of content, like a link or image, added to an ad to give more detail.
An ad asset is any add-on that extends a base ad, such as sitelinks, callouts, images, prices, or phone numbers. Google Ads renamed "ad extensions" to "assets" in 2022. Assets can make an ad look more useful, but the system chooses which ones actually show.

Why it matters
How Ad Asset fits the work
Assets give an ad more space and more reasons to click without an extra fee per asset, and they can make listings more useful to searchers.
In context
An advertiser adds sitelink, callout, and image assets to a search ad, and Google displays two sitelinks plus one callout on a mobile result.
Practical note
Adding assets does not guarantee they appear. Google shows assets when it predicts they will help, and the mix can change by device, query, and ad rank.
